A Week of Pictures #22 [Series 7. Theme: On the Ground]
The previous fortnight’s images, from the series On the Ground, is now available on the dofk photoblog.
(It would be too cluttered to post all 14 images here, as in the previous fashion.)
This group of images is an exploration of autumn, sans images of leaves on trees.
Korea experiences four distinct seasons, and I wished to explore autumn, from the ground level, but looking for signs of life, values and culture, from the point of view of discarded things.
The ground has many strong associations. Often it’s the place where the wealthy want to stay far away from. It’s associated with poverty, the mob, and the masses. In other words, it’s probably a place of truth.
It’s also a place of struggle, and where ordinary people try to eek out a living, and do the best for their families.
And then again, it’s the nurturing ground of life; where growth occurs; the birthplace of nature.
On the Ground, is an exploration of all these things, and more. I hope you enjoy the work.
